Risk in British Wrestling
Our new article was published in Survive and Thrive today. This is a journal of narrative medicine and medical humanities. It is published as part of a special edition (edited by Professor David Beard of the University of Minnesota, Duluth) on Health, Illness and Injury in Professional Wrestling. We are delighted to see this article in print. It reads risk in wrestling through the idea of edgework, analysing the data that emerged from the British Academy Health and Wellbeing in Professional Wresting project. So many interesting ideas about risk emerged in our interviews, not only the various risks involved but also how some of these might be addressed ethically and holistically. As always the team would be so glad to hear from anyone in the wrestling community who might like to talk more about the issues we raise here. The article can be accessed free of charge here.
