Dr Anthony Papathomas (Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology) employs qualitative methodologies as a means of understanding the life experiences of marginalised groups and clinical populations. He is Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead for the British Association of Sports and Exercise Sciences and the author of The Very Alternative Guide to Spinal Cord Injury (2017). [Read more]

Professor Dominic Malcolm (Professor in Sociology of Sport) explores the intersection of sport, medicine and health. He is the author of Sport, Medicine and Health: the medicalization of sport? (2016) and The Concussion Crisis in Sport (2020). [Read more]

Sam West  completed his doctorate at Loughborough University in 2023 using storytelling to understand British independent wrestling. He co-founded Wrestling Resurgence in 2017 and has received Arts Council-funding on four occasions. [Read more]
